Samya is an independent journalist, a media trainer and a digital storyteller. She was the first teaching fellow with the Google News Initiative in the Middle East and North Africa. Before joining Google, Samya worked as an online video and social media producer at CNN in Dubai, covering entertainment and cinema, and specialising in the Arab film industry. She produced one season of the podcast “Scene Cinema”, which focuses on independent Arab Cinema. She hosts a bi-monthly show on CNNArabic, Poster, which also focuses on indie Arab cinema. She currently serves as a communication consultant for ARIJ in Jordan. Samya focuses on visual storytelling in her work, creating ways to promote news stories across different digital platforms. In her training, she focuses on teaching journalists innovative ways to cover news, tell stories, and distribute their productions across different platforms. Samya is also a children books writer. She leads an initiative called Samya Reads.

Laurian's career started out as a television presenter for a live youth show, in which they were nominated for a SAFTA (South African film and television award - category: Best television presenter). They have 10 years experience in presenting for television. Since then, their career has progressed to script writing, insert producing, content producing, producing both live and pre-recorded shows with a focus on children and youth programming, Laurian has also worked on short films as well as the development of concepts, pitching to broadcasters and producing content for broadcasters amounting to 100’s of hours of television. They have a strong passion for youth development on the continent of Africa and have a demonstrated history of working with and impacting youth communities globally. They are passionate about story - telling, youth empowerment, transformation and continent building, and have also delved into the e - learning space and are excited to work with and inspire many in the publishing space.

Agnieszka is an accomplished professional with a robust background in managing small companies, leading marketing campaigns, and overseeing advertising and promotional activities.
